A one-time 4-star quarterback recruit is leaving the Jackson State program.

Jalon Jones introduced on social media that he can be coming into the switch portal.

“I wish to announce that I’m coming into the switch portal,” Jones posted on Twitter. “I’m excited and thank God for this chapter of my life and profession.”

The information comes on the heels of Jones being benched for redshirt freshman Quincy Casey after beginning the primary 5 video games of the spring season.

On Tuesday, head coach Deion Sanders named Casey the starter for the Tigers’ season finale towards Prairie View on April 24.

“Sure, definitely,” Sanders advised the Clarion-Ledger. “I feel he proved that. We’re glad together with his productiveness. We simply have to keep up it all through the week and maintain him targeted, and he desires to do this.”
