OKLAHOMA CITY (Free Press) — The Putnam Metropolis Faculties (PCS) district Board of Ed voted Friday to take authorized motion towards the Oklahoma State Board of Schooling (OKBOE) to cease the switch of thousands and thousands from public college districts to constitution colleges throughout the state.

WHEREAS, the foregoing lawsuit has been ongoing since; and

WHEREAS, on Thursday, March 25, 2023, SBE met in government session to debate the pending litigation with OPCSA. Upon returning to the open session portion of the assembly, SBE Board member Trent Smith made a movement to undertake a board decision to equalize funding between all public colleges and constitution colleges and to settle the lawsuit filed by the OPCSA. SBE voted 4 to three to undertake the decision; and

WHEREAS, State Superintendent of Instruction, Pleasure Hofmeister, voted towards the movement and suggested the opposite members of SBE that she believed, based mostly on authorized recommendation, that such motion violated the Oklahoma Statutes, the Oklahoma Structure, and her oath of workplace.
