The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to phrases with free-agent cornerback Bashaud Breeland, the staff introduced Friday.
The deal is one other free-agent addition to the Vikings secondary this offseason together with the signings of Patrick Peterson and Mackensie Alexander, who spent the primary 4 seasons of his profession in Minnesota.
Breeland, 29, began 32 video games for the Kansas Metropolis Chiefs over the previous two years, together with six postseason video games. He had 5 interceptions throughout that span, together with one within the Chiefs’ Tremendous Bowl LIV victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
He missed the primary 4 video games of the 2023 season after he was suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s coverage on substance abuse.
Breeland was arrested in April 2023 in York County, South Carolina, on a number of prices, together with resisting arrest, having an open container of beer or wine in a motorized vehicle, possession of 28 grams or much less of marijuana or 10 grams of hash, and driving with no license.

Total, Breeland has 377 tackles, 8 compelled fumbles, 6 fumble recoveries, 14 interceptions and three defensive touchdowns over seven NFL seasons.
