Lionel Richie mirrored on a few of his most memorable moments along with his longtime buddy Tina Turner in a brand new Vogue profile.
“After I consider my pricey buddy Tina, I consider willpower, energy, and an unimaginable work ethic,” Lionel tells Vogue. “There are performers, there are singers and there are entertainers. Tina is all three.”
The “Hey” singer remembers Tina opening up for him on his Can’t Gradual Down world tour in 1984, following the discharge of her comeback album Non-public Dancer.
“I keep in mind her strolling into the rehearsal. She was very quiet, virtually shy, with this wonderful smile and character,” Lionel remembers. “Then the music began and he or she was Tina Turner — to the purpose the place I couldn’t carry out. I’d simply sit and watch what she was doing.”
