As a result of they’re silver and concave, the plaques that Spotify provides to artists for racking up one billion streams of one in all their tracks have impressed some musicians to show them into dinner plates. Now Maren Morris is leaping on that bandwagon.
On her socials, Maren wrote, “Stated I’d do it,” alongside a black-and-white video of herself cooking mac ‘n cheese, dumping it on her plaque, and consuming it whereas carrying a flowery costume.
“thanks for a billion streams on The Center, y’all,” she wrote, referring to her Grammy-nominated smash hit with Zedd and Gray. “And thanks @spotify for the multi-purpose plaque.”
“The Center,” launched in 2018, was a top-five hit on the Billboard Sizzling 100 and was nominated for Document of the 12 months, Tune of the 12 months and Greatest Pop Duo/Group Efficiency on the Grammys in 2019.
In 2018, Taylor Swift invited Maren to hitch her onstage to carry out “The Center” throughout the Arlington, TX cease of her Status Stadium Tour. Maren can at the moment be heard singing on the music “You All Over Me” on Taylor’s newly launched Fearless (Taylor’s Model) album venture.
