Not very removed from the acclaimed Woodstock Pageant in Bethel, New York, a robust celebration of black heritage was going down.
In the summertime of 1969, The Harlem Cultural Pageant, only one hundred miles south of Woodstock, was dwelling to a six-week occasion highlighting historical past, style and the black expertise.
