Law School Students Get Combs Stipends

Scholarships have been awarded to three-year legislation college students by the Oklahoma Metropolis Affiliation of Black Legal professionals.

The Melvin Combs Jr. Memorial Scholarships have been awarded throughout a Might 4 occasion.

Joshua D. Hillard of Oklahoma Metropolis College, Sara N. Franco of the College of Oklahoma and Jon Paul Ray of the College of Tulsa have been the scholarship recipients.

Every recipient acquired funds to defray prices associated to taking the Oklahoma Bar examination.

The scholarships are named for the Oklahoma Metropolis lawyer “who devoted his time tutoring Black legislation college students and helped, with out compensation or recognition,  greater than 100 college students put together for the bar examination,” a press release mentioned.

The scholarship fund was made attainable by donations from members of the Oklahoma Metropolis Affiliation of Black Legal professionals and the McAfee & Taft Regulation Agency.
