THIS TUESDAY WARD 3 VOTERS WILL CHOOSE A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER. >> INCUMBENT ALISON PETRONE FACES NEWCOMER KELLY LYNN. HERE’S WHAT THEY SAID ABOUT NORMAN’S PANDEMIC RESPONSE. >> WE HAVE BEEN VERY FORTUNATE HERE IN NORMAN. THE MAYOR HAS GOTTEN A TASK FORCE TOGETHER WHERE WE GET TO HEAR FROM SOME OF THE STATES BEST EXPERTS TO ADVISE US ON HOW TO DO THAT. I AM VERY ENCOURAGED. YOU CAN SEE THE NUMBERS IN NORMAN. THEY REFLECT LOWER INFECTION RATES. COMPARED TO NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES THAT DID NOT EVER HAVE A MASS ORDINANCE. WE BELIEVE IT SAVES LIVE >> I THINK THAT WE’VE BEEN TOO SEVERE. I SUPPORT OTHER PLACES THAT HAVE KEPT BUSINESSES AND SCHOOLS OPEN. SOUTH DAKOTA, THERE’S FLORIDA, THEY’RE GREAT EXAMPLES THAT HAVE NO OR LITTLE DIFFERENT RATES OF THE DISEASE OR DEATH RATES A THEY’VE BEEN KIND OF AN EXAMPLE OF THE WAY TO DO THINGS.
