Oklahoma Gov.’s unemployment benefits decision could lead to disaster for apprentices, Union says

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Some Oklahoma staff say there’s an unaccounted-for impression of the governor’s plan to opt-out of pandemic unemployment advantages early. 

The federal authorities pays an additional $300 per week in advantages till September 6 for furloughed or laid-off staff, however Governor Stitt is ending these funds by June 27. 

It has introduced a dilemma for some Oklahomans who have been relying on that more money all summer time. 

“It is a worthwhile subsidy. It’s serving a goal, and it’s permitting them to proceed their in-class coaching whereas we look forward to work to select up,” stated the Oklahoma Electrician Union enterprise supervisor Jim Griffy. 

Griffy stated the union has 27 apprentices, and so they rely on the additional cash to proceed coaching.
