Police: Oklahoma man allegedly fires gun at people shooting off fireworks

MOORE, Okla. (KFOR) – An evening of household, associates, and fireworks in Moore ended with individuals operating for his or her lives and a person within the hospital with a gunshot wound Sunday night time.

Residents of the Kings Manor neighborhood stated an aged man began firing his gun at them as a result of he did not like them taking pictures fireworks.

Somebody shot again on the man, hitting him within the leg. All this made for a July 4th vacation the neighborhood will always remember.

Moore police report they have been alerted to pictures fired and a neighborhood dispute within the 600 block of Kings Manor round 11 p.m. Sunday.

Residents stated an aged man who lived on the block expressed not liking that his two neighboring homes have been taking pictures fireworks. He then began taking pictures his gun on the group of about 25 individuals.

“It is simply loopy that he’d do this,” stated one of many neighbors who was taking pictures the fireworks, selecting to stay nameless. “It is loopy that he’d take pictures at individuals, together with that we have now children out right here.”

About 10 kids ran to security together with the adults, into houses and down the road.

Witnesses stated the person had a big gun, presumably an AR-15.

Within the insanity, somebody returned hearth on the aged man and hit him within the leg.  

“I am simply floored,” stated neighbor, Tyler Bridges. “I am shocked. Simply shocked. Utterly shocked. It is a fairly quiet, good neighborhood and we by no means thought something like this might occur.”

Somebody fleeing the gunfire jumped over Bridges’ fence and thru his yard to security.

“He requested for permission to return over the fence,” Bridges defined. “We did not know what was occurring. He was actually out of breath and he’s like, ‘Somebody’s taking pictures at me with an AR,’ and I’m like, ‘huh?’ I used to be simply frightened about my children. This might have come over in my yard actually simply.”

Nobody else was damage that night time, however neighbors say it may have been a lot worse.

“That was silly to do,” stated the neighbor who was taking pictures fireworks. “Households have been on the market. Youngsters have been on the market. There was no motive to try this. Any person may have died.”  

Police aren’t releasing the identification of the aged man. He was taken to the hospital and launched the identical night time.

Investigators will not focus on if any fees are being filed, saying that is an ongoing investigation.
