UPDATE: Oklahoma City police released the name of a wanted suspect who allegedly opened fire on an officer in the city’s northwest area.

Officials identified the suspect as 29-year-old Aaron Sayre.

Sayre was found driving a stolen vehicle in the area of Memorial Road and Walker, just before noon Monday, according to Oklahoma City Police Department officials.

An officer pursued Sayre, who, at some point, fired a gun at the officer. The officer returned fire, officials said.

Sayre abandoned the vehicle and took off running.

He is believed to have been picked up by someone driving a blue Nissan Cube.

Anyone who has information on Sayre’s whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911.

Sayre, who has active felony warrants, is believed to be armed and dangerous.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma City police are searching for a suspect who allegedly opened fire on an officer in the northwest part of the city.

The suspect allegedly fired five to six shots at the officer in the 500 block of Northwest 142nd Street on Monday morning.

Police say the suspect fled west from the Walker area, jumping a fence.

He is believed to still be armed.

A private citizen attempted to chase the suspect, but could not catch up to him.

The suspect is believed to possibly be in a blue Nissan, heading west on Memorial.
