A bunch of 11 U.S. mayors, together with one from Oklahoma, has pledged to pay reparations for slavery to a small group of Black residents of their cities. The mayors have dedicated to kind commissions to advise them on methods to develop the applications. As soon as they will determine funding, the mayors say they may develop and implement applications to pay reparations to a “cohort of Black residents.” The mayors, who characterize huge cities and the tiny city of Tullahassee, Oklahoma, say their aim is to set an instance for the federal authorities on how a nationwide program might function. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock are main the group.
