Police: Bones discovered in Shawnee identified as missing Oklahoma man

SHAWNEE, Okla. (KFOR) – Officers say the seek for a lacking man has come to a tragic finish.

The quiet wooded space simply south of the intersection of Independence Avenue and Brangus Street in Shawnee became a criminal offense scene late final month.

Investigators say a person was strolling within the wooded space on March 15 and noticed bones close by.

“We will verify it’s human bones,” stated Cpl. Vivian Lozano, with the Shawnee Police Division.

Brokers with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Workplace responded to the scene to help with the investigation.

Now, officers have recognized the sufferer as John Ayers, who was reported lacking in 2015.

Officers say the health worker remains to be investigating the sufferer’s method of dying.
