Skydance Bridge to light up the night sky for pollinators

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Pollinators are being celebrated this week throughout the nation, together with in Oklahoma.  

The Oklahoma Metropolis Skydance Bridge can be lit in vibrant yellow and orange on Monday, June 21 to lift consciousness for Monarch butterflies.  

Proper subsequent door at Scissortail Park, the Nature Conservancy and Okies for Monarchs will host a Pollinator Evening.  

“Pollinator week is a time to have a good time and enhance training and consciousness about our pollinators,” stated Katie Hawk, with the Nature Conservancy.  

Company at Pollinator Evening will obtain free wildflower seeds, have alternatives to purchase Milkweed and different pollinator crops, and go on a wildflower stroll.  

Hawk says Oklahomans ought to care about pollinators as a result of they’re answerable for 1/3 of the meals and drinks on our tables.

Pollinator Evening can be at Scissortail Park on Monday, June 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free.
