Chase suspect holds baby hostage in standoff with Oklahoma police

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – Oklahoma Metropolis police and the Oklahoma Freeway Patrol are concerned in a standoff with a suspect in a chase.

The chase led to Norman, close to twelfth Avenue NW and Kingston.

About 4 a.m., Oklahoma Metropolis police began chasing a white Lincoln City Automotive in south Oklahoma Metropolis.

Preliminary stories point out the suspect car sped away from officers at 100mph.

The automotive misplaced a tire close to Tecumseh Highway, which is when the motive force started slowing down and ultimately stopped.

Police say the suspect jumped out of the automotive with an toddler in his arms.

Preliminary stories say he started operating backwards whereas holding a knife to the child’s throat.
